I am sure many of you have heard about the popular online game Minecraft. The game is made out of block graphics and allows the player to take advantage of their imagination (and lack of realistic physics in game). It is a very addictive game... but fortunately I was only absorbed in it for about three days (then Skyrim came, and examples from that can also be used for this post).
What has all this got to do with anything I would want to talk about? Why am I even mentioning this? Well, I noticed something very interesting while playing. Nothing happens at once. The biggest castle, the deepest underground city, the most elaborate maze, none of it is created at once. Sounds obvious? Well, yeah, it is. But there is a significance to this. When you play in "survival" mode on this game, you start with nothing and have to gather all your materials and make all your tools. And step 1 is punching trees to get wood (fortunately that's not a life lesson).
Everything is built gradually. I have had multiple games building a big project: a giant keep, a tree forest, a large wall village, etc. It always works with me starting with a little hut, hunting some animals, and mining a few basic materials. I gather enough materials for a local farm, start mining deeper, get more materials, explore more, and so one. No major, immediate changes. But then suddenly, I will realize I have the resources to start building a bigger, better house. So I may lay a foundation, then go back and farm some more, then mine some more, come back and build a bit, etc.
If I stand back after several hours of playing and compare what I have done to what it all looked like when I started, there is a major difference. But that difference came through little bits here and there. It reminded me that real life works that same way.
You don't graduate high school in one day. You go there for years, day after day. You don't notice any immediate changes, but when you stop and look back, you see a difference.
When you train, you don't go from a scrawny kid (or fat kid) to a Greek Statue overnight. It takes years of dedication. Doing workouts that improve your body little by little, and eating a diet that improves you bit by bit. Then one day you look back, and realize you have a six pack, or lost 20lbs, or whatever.
And of course the old saying, Rome wasn't built in a day. It was built over centuries. And as what happens to me in Minecraft, it is never finished. There is always a little more I can do. We should live life the same way. Don't expect major, overnight changes. They happen, but work towards the gradual, steady progression in life. I will be trying to live as such myself. Always remember to continue doing these little things (exercising, studying, writing, etc.), because although I may not notice an immediate difference, over time they will add up. This applies for negative things to. If you eat a large pizza every day it adds up over time.
So just remember, take it steady. This is my lesson from Minecraft, and many other games.

Alpha Male of '91
So what movies came out in 1991? Okay, I don't know all the answers to that one; but I do have one movie in particular in mind. That movie is the Beauty and the beast. Looking back on it, I noticed something very interesting.
Did you know that in that movie it is revealed how to become "roughly the size of a barge"? The main villain of the film, Gaston, is a bit of a selfish jerk who wants Belle. However, he is also a very big and strong man, who knows a little trick about size and strength that is often ignored today.
I know, I know, it's just a cartoon. But there are real people who got real results by using the same strategy that Gaston used in the film. I embedded a clip below. Can you find Gaston's "secret"?
Okay, here's a hint. Around the mid point of the film, Gaston states that as a lad, he ate 4 dozen eggs (48) every morning, but now eats 5 dozen eggs (60). It is because of this that, as Gaston puts it, he is "roughly the size of a barge". Now this may all seem a little unrealistic, but hold on just one more minute.
Vince Gironda, known as the "Iron Guru", was a famous bodybuilder who's knowledge was so valued (and controversial) that even the famous bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger came to him for training advice. Why do I mention this? Because Gironda advised eating up to 3 dozen eggs a day. He believed that this many quality eggs a day could actually have similar effects to the anabolic steroid, Dianabol. Interestingly enough, Dianabol was one of the steroids Arnold used to become so large.
And in the video, Gaston ate up to 60 eggs a day. Notice how big he was? Gaston was an image of the alpha male in 1991. And honestly, he's a better image then most I see today. True, he was a selfish jerk, but he built a strong, healthy body through safe, natural means. If people were to pick up on that aspect of Gaston these days, things would be a little better.

Cold Steel and Winter's Fury
I wanted to pick a dramatic(ish) title for today. It seems I'm taking a temporary leave from the deep, philosophical stuff for a little while and going onto the simpler stuff.
Winter's coming. My least favorite time of year. Why is that? The cold. I really, really do not like the cold. The part that makes it worse is that I adjusted to the Texas summer a little to well. Anything below 70 degrees felt a little chilly at first, once things began to cool off. It will get much colder now. And since I prefer to sweat as opposed to shiver if I have the choice, this will not be fun or easy.
Oh, but it gets better! I actually mean that too. Bova's back! If you don't know who that is, don't worry. Check out my last post. Anyway, because of this I've been inspired to spend the next little bit of this year getting in tip top shape! That means, however, that not only will I be continuing training during the time of year where most people slack off and when it's coldest, I will actually be training harder and being more strict. I also train in my backyard, which will suck. No heating, just winter's cold bite. So that means if I want to keep warm, I gotta dress it. But I still have to work. And... the barbell will be really freaking cold.
So, that's the reason I named this post "Cold Steel of Winter's Fury". I will be lifting cold steel out in cold of winter's "fury". When pretty much the entire world will be slacking off because of the cold and the holidays, I will be trying to ramp things up. If I can keep it up, New Year's will come around and I'll be in the best shape of my life, and everyone else will be recovering from their holiday binge and starting their New Year's resolutions. From there, I can just sit back and watch everyone else mess around for a few days/weeks/months until they give up.
Beyond that news, about the love/hate relationship I will be having with my weights, there are a couple other things:
One, Bova's back! I'll probably be mentioning him in almost every post from now on as well.
Oh, and Tried and True Fitness has made a new book that I would really like as well: http://www.getaclassicbody.com/ (to a certain few people reading this, that's one of my Christmas wishes ;).
Jackie is coming with a new cd on the 1st, waiting for that. Also listening to a pre-released single from the cd as I work on this post (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwk2lQOdE7I) Can I go a single post without mentioning her?
Skyrim! On the 11th, one of the best games ever will come out. I am also hoping to get in great shape for that so I can take a week off training for "recovery" as I play a barbarian in the snow topped mountains hunting dragons. My plan is to be as muscular as my character.
So, I think that's it for now. One more thing though! Don't slack off on a healthy life style just because it's cold and it's the holidays. Be better then everyone else, and push through. If you don't want to be weak like everyone else, you can't live like everyone else. If you want to be strong and healthy in a way normal people aren't, you can't live like normal people. Want to be better then everyone you know? Live better then everyone you know. Don't want to feel sick this year like everybody else? Don't be like everybody else!
May you join me in feeling the Bite of Cold Steel and Winter's Fury!

"Here's my money. Take it, PLEASE!"
There are times where I wish I had the money to actually say that. That is because, there are times where I know my money will be so well spent, I don't even have to think about it. There are two reasons I'm talking about this right now; two people who sell things that I enjoy and use so much I don't even need to know what it is they are selling. Tell me they're selling something new, and take my money.
Of course, there are many others out there who sell stuff I trust and use, but not quite on this level. So these two people I'm talking about, they are Anthony Bova and Jackie Evancho. The reason I am willing to buy what they sell? I trust them, and know that anything I buy from them will change my life and will be used until the day I die.
Why am I even talking about this? Well, to promote the names (I want people to hear about what they do and sell), and to tell you a bit more about me.
So first off, Anthony Bova. I only know of one, maybe two people who read this blog who might know what that is (Specialist, if you read this, "Remember us", don't let them down ;). For everyone else, Bova is the author of the "Spartan Health Regimen". If I were to describe anything as the "bible" for physical health, this would be it.
What I mean by that, is it teaches you the basic principles of health and how to apply them in such a simple, down to earth way that you can always refer to it. This program doesn't tell you what you should eat for each meal, how many carbs you should have on Tuesday, or how often you should train biceps. It does, however, tell you the simple truths behind health.
After reading it, it became very easy to understand what food is truly healthy. And by healthy, I mean real health. Health that keeps you lean, strong, fast, active, and NOT sick. A healthy that radiates from your skin, eyes, hair, attitude, etc.
Bova tells you what past civilizations did to achieve this type of health, and also some experiments he has done on himself (with real world results) with how foods work and simple, effective ways to stay fit. He tells you some exercises and basic routines that can be used to achieve great strength and power (along with a well chiseled body), and these work too.
But of course, it's the principles he teaches that are most important. The recipes, exercises, etc. he outlines are just examples of how to apply these principles (examples that, in many cases, he has spent years refining). After getting his Spartan Health Regimen for my 15th birthday, I've been healthier and stronger then I ever have been (and healthier then probably everyone else I know). The only times I've gotten "sick" at all has been when I walk off the Spartan "path" and eat normal food. After seeing, and experiencing, the effectiveness of his program, I wouldn't have a problem shelling out money for anything new he has to sell.
To be honest, the entire reason I'm writing this article is because he recently sent out an email saying he's back into action and promoting his stuff again (along with making new programs, answering emails, etc.) I was so excited when I got his email that my first two responses were "BOVA'S BACK!" and "If only I had some money". That last response, of course, would have been "Here's my money. Take it, PLEASE!" if I had actually had any cash to spare. But alas, the world is a cruel place.
Now, Jackie Evancho. Take one click glance at my blog and you will see numerous articles about her. It's pretty obvious I enjoy her music. I believe I have even stated on here that she is my favorite artists. If I haven't before, I have now! Even my last post before this one was about her. In that post I talked about her Christmas cd being released. As has become my custom with any of her music, my reaction when I heard about it was "take my money". But once again, actually having money to hand over is a problem, but for 10 bucks, I think I'll manage.
This post is already probably long enough, and I've spoken so much about Jackie before, I don't believe I need to say much. So now I have a little question for you all. Are there any people out there who sell stuff you like and trust so much that when you hear they are selling something new, your reacting is "Here's my money!"? Tell me in the comments! Also tell me if you have ever bought any of Jackie's or Bova's stuff, and what you thought of it!

Questions to ponder
So the name of this blog is "De' Tinker's Thoughts" which is slang (or whatever the term is) for "The Thinker's Thoughts". And since I'm De' Tinker, it naturally implies I do some thinking. I have many posts already on here about my thoughts on matters. But this post will be different. I will simply ask you some of the questions I've been asking myself, and see what kind of answer you have; or just let you continue to think about them. I will also have a couple of statements in here, please tell me your response to those as well.
The borrower is slave to the lender. And America is called the "Land of the Free". So why is America over 14 trillion dollars in debt?
Why is it that someone who kills a pregnant woman can be convicted of double murder, but if that same woman has an abortion she was just exercising her rights over her body and did not commit murder?
Evolutionists say that they don't allow religion to effect science. Science, real science, the type of science that allowed us to walk on the moon, go to the bottom of the sea (parts of it), fly around the world in a single day, and so much more, is all observable and repeatable. Evolution involves something in the past that can't be repeated or observed, but instead have faith in their beliefs of the past. Does that sound like a religion to you?
Many Christians put so much effort into the latest health fads or whatever the worlds says is the right way to become healthy. Why do they try to use man's methods to achieve a God given potential for health? Why not use the Creator's methods to achieve the potential for health He gave us?
People who don't believe in a higher authority often talk about morals. Without a higher authority, there is no absolute for morals. So why do they punish people for what they believe to be wrong?
Why can kids no longer play games like tag or hide and seek (amongst many others)? These were staple games amongst kids when I was younger. Are they really "unsafe", or have the kids and their parents just become to soft?
In Evolution, it is said there's a chance for anything to happen given enough time and chance. I have come to realize that Time and Chance are the chief gods of Evolution. The third being, Imagination.
There is a multi-million (probably billion) dollar industry in health and fitness. They try to sell you all these fancy equipments, meals, and routines. However, it doesn't matter how fancy, simple, cheap, expensive, complicated, well thought out, easy, hard, etc your routine/diet/or whatever is. If you don't do you or use it, it just plain sucks. It's even worse when you use it/do it and it sets you back.
Why is it that decades before steroids people were setting verifiable strength records that have gone unbroken today with all of our "knew knowledge" in techniques and technology today? Some of these even being from the late 1800's.
If the Old Testament takes up over three quarters of the Bible, why do so many people talk about it less then one fourth of the time?
If mankind truly started out dumb and has gotten smarter, as atheists and evolutionists like to believe, then why have we found batteries several thousand years old? Or temples designed to have their own natural air conditioning requiring no power or maintenance for several millennium? Or pyramids that are thousands of years old yet built in such an advanced way that we couldn't repeat it today?
Why in America is it okay to question the government but not Darwin, when in many other countries you can question Darwin but not the government?
Why does America believe that teaching people to rely on the government will make them more productive and boost the economy?
Why is it people used to care for each other, help the sick, and feed the poor because they wanted to help, and now that the government is in charge of all that, no one helps (for the most part)?
The majority of people's food comes from some kind of grain (I won't even talk about all the processing). However, our digestion system isn't designed to digest grains and such, nor I body to process it. Our digestive tract is of more a medium length, suited more towards meat or ideally fruit (and vegetables). Our teeth range from blunt molars to sharp canines. We are omnivores, and are best suited for a majority fruit diet. I wonder why people are fat these days...
When America was founded, it was believed that the more kids you had the better off financially you would be. Why has that belief been reversed? Why do people assume that the more kids you have means the less money you will get?
In a letter penned by Thomas Jefferson was the famous quote "separation of church and state". What people don't realize is that it is often misquoted. In context, Jefferson was saying that the Constitution had built that wall of separation by saying that the government could not declare an official religion, therefore protecting people's right to freedom of religion. People now use the quote to get prayer out of schools.
The only type of person who is completely safe to pick on (the list is building) is a Christian adult white heterosexual male with no deformities or mental problems. If you choose to pick on anyone else, you are either a racist, sexist, bully, heartless, homophobic, non tolerant, or are discriminating in some other way. Why is this?
Praying in schools has been banned in schools and the workplace because it is considered unconstitutional and offensive, yet it is still just fine to curse in those same places? Cursing is offensive, but still part of our right to free speech all the same as praying.
It is taught these days that fat is bad. However, it is also taught that without fat we would die. How is this?
It is considered conventional wisdom or whatever that eating raw meat is bad (and will kill you). Show me a lion, bear, ape, shark, eagle, maggot, or any number of other animals that get sick from eating raw meat.
That's all for now, I may write another post like this sometime or write posts about one of these questions/statements. Please tell me your thoughts on these, even if you pick one and say a quick one sentence reply (I would like a lot more though).

The Image
I don't know why I didn't think of making a post about this sooner. It's one of my areas of study and interest. What am I talking about? Physical training. There was a time where it was called bodybuilding, but that word has been marred by lust for money and by the use of steroids and other chemicals (just to name two reasons).
Now, there have been other names throughout history (even recent history) for keeping the body in good running order, but for simplicity's sake I will call it either physical training or bodybuilding here. All physical training means is... physically training yourself. Your body, keeping it running good and all that stuff. There can be different extents (keeping the belly off for a desk job to being an Olympic athlete), but the same basic principle. Same thing with bodybuilding, it simply means building a better body, inside and out. Not a bigger one, per se, but a better one; meaning healthier, faster, stronger, more energy, etc.
Let's go back to the beginning. You should know what I mean if you've been reading my blog for any amount of time. Back to the very beginning.
A quick warning. This will be a rant of sorts, and I'm not entirely sure where I'll end up. I have several points I want to make, but they are along different paths. Just keep reading and see what happens. This is how I think when I am out pondering things.
Okay, in the beginning the Creator... created... creation. Seems kinda obvious, but there are still people out there who can't see it (not gonna get started on here). During the creation week, man was made it the image of the Creator Himself. This Creator was perfect, and His creation up to this point (before the fall) was perfect as well. So naturally, the man He created in His image would be perfect. Perfect in mind and body. I believe I have discussed a bit about the mind in other posts, now for the body. 6,000 years ago, the average man (and women) actually looked good. Even after the fall.
If you've read my first post, you should have read about how everything ran much more efficiently in the past (I mentioned it in other posts as well I believe). Also, since we had the proper nutrients from our food, we were likely in very good condition all the time. We also likely did a little bit more physical jobs as well (the understatement of several millennium possibly). Since our genetics were also better, and had more protection from outer space, and better atmosphere, and many other reasons, our bodies would be much more fit. Here is a picture from the Greeks, thousands of years after the time period I'm talking about:
Not huge or anything, but still looks very strong and healthy. If the Greeks could get the idea, why can't we now? The point I'm trying to make right now? I'm not sure, I got three of them stuck in my head and they are competing for room here. I can only talk about one, maybe two. So... I'll choose to talk about vanity and how the Almighty has been removed from cultures view of the body (yes, those are both one point).
My fist section, talking about vanity, is the biggest part of the rant I might have on this post. It deals with the fact that many people assume if you care about taking care of your body (exercising, healthy diet, etc.) it means you are vain. If you are being vain, it means you are therefore sinning. My response to people who think this (one of many responses) is "so it is better to let our bodies waste away? That is how we should treat the temple of the Lord". Of course, we don't want to focus completely on the temple and forget the Lord of the temple, but my point stands.
The reason I'm discussing this is the fact that I've been told by many Christians that I shouldn't think about my body so much, that I was created this way for a reason, and I should accept myself the way I am. And honestly, I'm a little sick of that answer. I personally see it as a weak person justifying why they are either underweight or overweight (amongst many other health related things). I've been told different variations of that, to different extents, and I am tired of it. Now I must confess, in the past I often did put bodybuilding ahead of the Creator, but many things happened and now the Creator is such a higher priority now that I am actually falling behind on training. So I've gotten past that phase. No one can pull that trick off on me anymore.
That "vanity" excuse is one reason, I believe, why Christians today are in such poor health. Yes, many are very happy and because of the joy within, they have lots of energy and such, but why let that compensate for poor physical lifestyle? I say it is better to have the Almighty give you power from within, as you take care of the body He fuels, and take care of the mind that controls it all. Pretty much, have a strong body, mind and soul.
Instead, people choose to rely completely on the Almighty in a bad way. He can take care of our bodies for us, and keep them in perfect running order, but He has chosen to give that responsibility to us. Others just can't seem to see that. Yes, the Creator made us the way we are. And you know what that means? It means we were made to adapt, whether that be for good or bad. So if you never exercise, eat crap food, and think just taking care of your mind and soul will do you good, well, you're only partially right. Sure, you'll go to Heaven, but probably prematurely. If you live like that, you're body will adjust and become weak and frail.
However, if you choose to train your body, give it time to rest, and feed it properly, guess what? Your body will adjust to become stronger, healthier and more athletic. How does this happen? The Almighty made you this way.
I personally believe that the way Christians disregard their bodies today is a poor representation of Christ. In the Bible, Christ's physical condition was never mentioned except in cases where He fasted or was beaten, and that's because in the end, it doesn't matter. However, do you really think He was given a weak body? Or that He didn't take care of it? Do you really think man was originally made in such horrid shape if we were made in the image of the Almighty, Perfect Creator? So then why, I ask, do we choose to take such poor care of our bodies, whether or not we are taking good care of our minds and souls? A man functions best when all three parts, mind, soul and body, are in top working order.
So, why has this happened? Because, slowly but surely, the Creator has been taken out of physical training. Now, it has become a money game by large corporations, and by ordinary people a matter of "just accept yourself the way you are". Now, if you can't be accepted into Heaven the way you are (or were if you accepted Christ), and have (had) to change, why should we just let our bodies rot away however they please? We have been given the knowledge to do otherwise! But no, most of that knowledge has been distorted. Just as our concept of food has been warped and has had the Creator taken out of it, so has our knowledge of training.
As I said, the corporations have made it a money game. They have made things much more complicated then they really are, in an attempt to confuse people and make them believe they must buy stuff to be fit. Supplements, pills, pre-made meals, fancy machines, special workout clothes, pretty gyms, steroids, boring cardio, etc, etc, etc.... NO! All you need is the ground and the food you can acquire yourself from nature, minimum. From there you can use rocks, logs, climbing things, swimming, or even start making tools such as metal man made weights. There are several very basic, very effective and very simple ways of staying in good health.
Another thing. We are being lied to that it is easy to have good health, well, it's not! We are being told being healthy is complicated, it's not! Being healthy is simple and hard. That's the truth. Just as with our souls, either you are perfect or you are not. Either you are going to Heaven or to Hell. Simple. Dead simple. Health is no more complicated. Us, as humans, have made it complicated. Same thing with these "religions" we keep making up.
So if you want a healthy body but don't want to work for it or change your lifestyle, well guess what? You are going to stay in the same condition you're in, or just get worse! Choosing to go to Heaven is easy, but your time on earth is not, same with health. Choosing to be healthy is easy, but the time spent doing it is not! Ah, hypocrites! You encourage people to change their lives to live for the Creator, yet you ignore our God given responsibility it take care of ourselves! We were given the earth and the creatures to take care of, and we put so much time and effort into that, but before we had that responsibility, we had our own bodies!
I'm going to pull back here, because I'm on the edge of a screaming rant. I am really disgusted by the way we have let our bodies, which were fearfully and wonderfully made by the Creator, rot away. Yes, they have been cursed to die, but it doesn't mean we just take it lying down (pun intended). Just as our morals have rotted away, our bodies have as well. We have degenerated so much since creation, it is appalling. Our health is only one small aspect!
That is all for now. I lost my original points, but I did express my inner thoughts, no holds barred. That's what this blog is for.

In The Beginning... Part 1
[I had originally meant this to be one post, but as I went along, I realized that would not be the case. So here is part 1 of "In The Beginning..."]
If you truly believe the Bible and all it says, then you believe that before there was time there was the Almighty. If you truly believe the Bible, you will believe that by merely speaking the Almighty created time, the laws of physics, the entire light spectrum; all the stars, nebualaes, galaxies in the universe; the angels and other heavenly beings along with the master pieces that we see in the heavens; and so much more!
Not only did the Almighty create it all, He created it perfect. He used the atmosphere to protect us from the deadly radiation of outer space by making it thicker and having a different combination of gases, and it was this atmosphere which also would have allowed the plants to grow bigger, faster, and richer than they have anytime since. The entire world would likely have been close to places such as the Amazon today. Except... there would be no annoying and deadly creatures, poisenous plants, or dangerous diseases. There would also have likely have been even more plants.
I feel I should explain the atmosphere some more. I don't have all the science know how, nor do I have the links and such for now, but if you feel you need to verify what I say, you can find the research. I am just pulling the knowledge from my head; most of this I got from books though. So not some random stuff I read on the internet. I will also be using logic and common sense based off of a Biblical perspective. That is why I began this post the way I did, so that when I mention things others say are impossible, you need only remember what the Creator has done.
So, the atmosphere. Well, it is believed (I'll use that term for modesty, though I believe it is a well known fact by most scientists) that there used to be many more green house gases in the atmosphere, as well as oxygen. That sounds almost like simply making the air denser. Scientists also have found evidence that the atmosphere was thicker in the past. There have been experiments, however, of what an atmosphere like this does. If you want to look up research for this, just look up "Hyperbaric Atmosphere" or something. That is what I believe it was like during the beginning of creation. It has been proved (meaning actually been done to real people) that a hyperbaric atmosphere can speed up the rate of healing and provide almost action-film like energy to people. There have been instances of both people and animals who were injured to such an extant that it was believed nothing could be done. So, they simply stuck them in a hyperbaric chamber. The body took care of itself from there.
Imagine with me, for a moment, that we did have a hyperbaric atmosphere in the past. Just as it has such an effect on people and animals, it has a strong effect on plants. The plants would have been HUGE! There would have been so many, and they would have been so healthy, plus the superpower like atmosphere, everything could have grown very large and lived very long. I believe that people grew to be over thirty feet tall in this period and for hundreds of years after. You think that sounds over the top? You simple minded people! I am talking about the Creator of Everything here! He created more galaxies then we have yet to discover! Over such vastness of space that we cannot comprehend it! He has also created things so small that only in the last few decades have wee been able to see them. Down to atoms and molecules, and possibly beyond. We cannot even explain what holds the protons, neutrons and electrons together; nor can we explain where all the matter in space came from. If I remember right, there is an estimated 10x178 (if I wrote the scientific short hand correct) atoms in the galaxy. Let me put that another way.
There are believed to be this many 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,0000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 atoms in the universe at least! Now tell me, why would He, in the beginning of time, only make people six or so feet tall? We already have evidence of bugs which are very small today being humongous in the past. Why not people? And since everything worked at such peak efficiency, we could live a very long time as well. Heard of Methuselah? He lived 969 years. Well guess what, we were originally made to live forever! If the average life expantancy today is around 70 years (give or take a few), yet the Bible says that people used to live over 900, why couldn't they have been that much bigger physically as well? I can't even remember my original point now, there is so much I can talk about in the beginning.
I've had people tell me that humans being over thirty feet tall in the past is a bit of a stretch. Well now I'm saying, is it? Did you read any of what I just wrote? Back to what I said in the beginning of this post. Do you believe in an Almighty Creator who can do all that? If you can and do, then you can also believe that we were bigger (and smarter, and healther, ect.) in the past. We have degerated since then. So has the atmosphere (was that my original point?); and that is just one small reason as to why we are in such a sorry state today. In the beginning, we were made the the grand scale of the Creator. Our bodies were very large and strong, our minds were powerful and fully active, we could live for such length of time that we can't even comprehend it today, we lived in a place that had such rich and abundant access to food and nourishment, and we were very close to the Creator. I am talking about before the Fall. Alright, you can stop imagining now.
Oh wait, you weren't imagining. You simply saw a glimpse of the splendour of the Creator, and what He has done in the past.

First!
That oh so common comment you see on just about everything these days. Everyone is so happy to be the first to comment on something that all they can think of to say is "first". But, since this is my first post, I decided to name it just that.
I decided to make this my more intellectual, or philosophical, blog. My other is more science fiction with a comedic edge. This will be about deeper, more serious stuff.
So, the thought that made me finally decide to start this blog:
Food.
Yes, very deep, serious, intellectual and philosophical, I know. I just came off a fast this morning, and my mind was going over our society's view of food and everything involved with it. You want to know what I came to realize? Almost everything involving food in these modern days (in America I know) is sinful and just wrong. We eat to much, to often, and we eat stuff that is so far removed from the way the Almighty created it that it isn't even funny. Yet, we say all this is healthy!
Let me explain further, laconic speech won't help to much with any controversial subject I bring up. We live in a society that says homosexuality, nudity, sex before marriage, bribery, disrespect, thievery, adultery, idolatry, and so much more is acceptable, and christians try their best to stay out of that and usually disagree with the world's view and that stuff (unfortunately, many christians are giving in). We live in a society that has taken the Creator out of as much of the created as possible, perverted everything they can, yet we still say their views on food and health are correct! But we say their views on morality are not... hmm, something seems wrong to me.
If the Creator wanted the Creation to stay healthy, why would he make health attainable by technology only available, at most, two times so far in history (one of those times is today, the other in ancient history. A subject for another post)? What about all those thousands of years where people were still living in little wood houses and using axes to chop wood for heat? They didn't have all the processing equipment to make our modern, "healthy" food. Why would anyone do something that stupid? Lead alone the All Powerful, All Knowing Creator of the Universe? No, he made it so we could be perfectly (at least as perfect as we can be in the fallen world) healthy without the aid of modern processing technology.
Let's start from the beginning. When He, the Creator, created the world, everything was a vegetarian. Also, everything was more efficient. We were protected from the harmful rays coming from outer space, had a thicker and more energizing atmosphere, had higher quality soil, ect.... making all the plants unbelievably healthy compared to anything today. Every living beast of the earth and foul of the air, as well as man, could get all the nutrients they needed from eating these plants in their natural form. There are some theories that they could have eaten fish too, something about the word for life describing fish as opposed to describing other animals being different in Greek and therefore fish weren't alive in a certain way, but I'll keep it simple and just say everything was a vegetarian in the beginning. No cooking or processing required, other than that which the body did naturally during digestion.
Move forward to after the fall. Death and degradation came into the world. Carnivores started appearing (the animals already existed before, they just ate plants; possibly a subject for another post), and in an estimated less than 1700 years, there was the flood. During that time, the world hadn't degraded, or "died" enough that we needed to eat animal products at all. We still had the protection from space, the thick atmosphere, really good soil, good plants, ect. It was still similar to the way things were when they were made "very good". Of course, sin was rampant, but biologically things were a lot closer to the beginning then they were today.
Then the flood happened. It fundamentally changed the entire world. Some of our protection from space was gone (and continues to deteriorate today), the atmosphere had changed, and several plants that might have fed us the right mix of nutrients possibly went extinct, amongst many other things that happened after the flood. Something interesting I noticed was, immediately after the flood receded and Noah and his family were back on dry land, was the fact that the All Knowing told them they could eat animals now. I realized, just hours before typing all this, that this was probably because He knew they could no longer get the all their required nutrients from plant matter alone. So mankind was allowed meat, by the Law of the Creator, for the first time.
Fast forward an estimated 4,300 years to today. The quality of the food has degraded so much it makes me want to laugh! Why do we think that processing it by man's methods will make it better than it grew under the Creator's Laws? If anything, the farther from the beginning we get, the less we should process the food, not more. You want to know why we do it? Because the Enemy, Satan, wants to remove the Almighty out of even the food we eat! Including, how we eat it! That, along with so much else stuff, all of which relating to sin, is why we eat both so much food and food of such low, processed quality. I'm not saying that eating a twinkie is a sin, per se, but the fact that we have so far removed food from the way it was created with purpose, and the fact that we eat much more than we need to, is the sin.
I realized another aspect of this when I was whittling down a secret stash of candy I had. I was eating a reese's egg, taking little bites and savoring the taste of each as long as I could. It took my probably three minutes to eat that one reese's, and it was very enjoyable. I was thinking of eating a second, when I realized if I did it would be gluttonous, selfish, and therefore sinful. I was shocked at that revalation, and decided not to have another. Then I thought over how everyone else eats. I realized it was very sinful as well. We eat far more than we need to, far more often, and we appreciate it very little.
The best part? If we ate our food the way the All Knowing, All Powerful, All Existing Creator meant us to, we would not eat to much, we would not eat to often, and what we ate would be the highest, undefiled quality we could get. Wait a minute... that sounds a lot like a few diets I've heard about; such as the Paleo diet, The Primal Blueprint, Spartan Health Regimen, ect... All of these encourage eating things in their natural state and not eating more than necessary. This philospy sounds very good to me. Eat as the Creator meant us to eat. But, why do so many people refuse to do this, or worse yet, even call this unhealthy!? Because, we have tried to remove the Creator out of everything He created. Including our diets.
